The faces behind the Shed
When we say our business is “small” and “family-run,” we’re not kidding. Just the two of us are running the show at Tilted Shed Ciderworks. Well, make that three, because our son, Benny, loves to help out!
Scott Heath
Co-owner, Cidermaker, Orchardist, and Graphic Designer
Scott handles all aspects of cidermaking and apple growing. He studied with UK cider expert Peter Mitchell, and has a certificate in cider sensory evaluation from the National Association of Cider Makers. A Master Printer, Scott has degrees in printmaking and photography. He also runs Fireball Press, a fine-art intaglio (etching) studio providing contract editioning services. His woodcut and hand-drawn illustrations grace our labels.
Ellen Cavalli
Co-owner and Sales & Marketing Director
Ellen is in charge of all the marketing, sales, distribution, and compliance issues, and of course, helps Scott with the cidermaking work (the grinder is her domain). Ellen is a longtime book and magazine editor, and currently freelances for book publishers and marketing agencies.
Scott and Ellen both grew up in Alameda, just across the bay from San Francisco, and have lived in the Bay Area for most of their lives, with stints in New York City and Northern New Mexico.
